WHY CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT?
When you sit and work correctly, you can prevent injury and reduce fatigue. Simply by changing the height of your monitor or adjusting the position of your keyboard, you can decrease the likelihood of injuries like carpal tunnel, neck pain, and back pain.

HOW YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR HABITS

  • Get up from your desk and move around at least once every 35 to 40 minutes. Sitting creates tremendous pressure on your spine.
  • Drink 8 glasses of water every day. Muscles are 75% water. Adequate hydration decreases musculoskeletal injury.
  • Pay careful attention to the position of your keyboard, monitor and copy stand. For tips, click here.
  • Take a break and stretch. For a sample stretch, click here.
  • Stretch every day to prevent injury. To learn more about a video that guides you through simple stretching exercises, click here.
